New Teacher: Ms. Eggers

New+Teacher%3A+Ms.+Eggers

Erin Eggers is a new Biology teacher this year at Concord-Carlisle High School. While she is not new to teaching, Ms. Eggers is new to our school district.

Ms. Eggers always wanted to be a teacher, but she never expected to teach at a high school. At first, Ms. Eggers considered completing a Ph.D. program in neuroscience, but she eventually realized it was not the right fit for her. In her mind, the environment was too lonely, and doing research full-time wasn’t her thing. After this realization, Eggers says she “tried to teach at the high school level and I really like it.”

CCHS is not Ms. Eggers’s first teaching gig, though. She has worked at Bedford High School, North High School, and Lincoln-Sudbury. When comparing districts though, she admits that overall she really likes being a part of the CCHS community. At CCHS, she says that both the students and teachers are smart and motivated, but she admits that she wishes “the kids would relax a little bit,” going on to say that she feels as though “there’s a lot of stress and tension floating around.” While this may be the case, she is very excited about getting to know her students and spending more time with them this year.

Outside of work, Ms. Eggers enjoys hiking and backpacking. She loves being outdoors and learned how to stand-up paddleboard last summer. While a compulsive reader, she’s also “hopelessly addicted to Animal Crossing.”

The Voice appreciates Ms. Eggers for taking the time to let us get to know a little more about her and wishes her a great school year!
