Welcome to View from the Top! This is a new column where we will be spotlighting different seniors every issue to hear about their “view from the top.” (If you are a senior interested in being featured, contact any of our club’s members or our faculty advisor Mrs. Ray, or email [email protected].)
In this issue, we’re featuring CCHS senior Iola. Read on to discover some of Iola’s interests, her perspectives on being a senior, and more!
What were some of the clubs, sports, and other extracurricular activities you were most involved in at CCHS?
I am part of various clubs like Student Senate, the Yearbook, and Green Team. I’ve also spent all four years on the Swim and Dive team.
What are your favorite ways to spend downtime?
I like watching TV and movies, sleeping, baking, and eating.
How do you feel about being a senior?
I feel like we spent a lot of our time as underclassmen thinking that senior year was so far away, so now that it’s actually our senior year, it can feel surreal. The timing of Covid worked out, so my senior year is not as messed up with Covid and masks and quarantining as it has been in last couple of years. Overall, I’m excited to be a senior and get out of here, but it’s also weird thinking about how I will never see so many of these people next year.
What’s the best thing about being a senior?
Senior Spring. The stress of doing extremely well and getting perfect grades is gone second semester.
What has been the highlight of your senior year?
I’m not sure if this is my absolute highlight but the swim season this year was for sure a highlight. I got to meet so many amazing people especially underclassmen who I wouldn’t have met otherwise!
What plans do you have after graduating from CCHS?
Going to college!
What’s your dream destination to travel to or where would you want to live?
I would love to live in Amsterdam for a little bit.
What’s the best spot in CCHS?
The Learning Commons.
What is the best lunch block? What’s the best place to get lunch?
D block lunch. Bagels Plus, Bruegger’s, and Panera.
What advice and/or tips do you have for underclassmen?
The more studies you have, the happier you will be!
